It was my father\u2019s.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

He was a high-performing private investigator. Strong. Capable. Sharp. And at 56 years old, he was told his legs would need to be amputated due to blood clots and advanced metabolic decline.<\/p>

The plan was simple.
Nursing home. Portion control. Diet soda. Sugar-free desserts.<\/p>

His life, as my parents knew it, was over.<\/p>

I remember feeling it in my bones \u2014 this was a diagnosis, not a destiny.<\/p>

But the deeper lesson came later.<\/p>

Although my father regained his weight and reversed his diagnosis, he was not ready to address the emotional roots that drove his lifestyle. Over time, old habits returned. The drive-through lines reappeared. The cycle resumed.<\/p>

And I learned something humbling.<\/p>

You cannot save someone into healing.<\/p>

People heal when they are ready to heal.<\/p>

That realization shaped my practice as much as the biological transformation did.<\/p>
